About The Band

Established in 2013, we have retained the majority of our original members, including Keahi Piiohia, Cyd Kamakea, Ata Boy Rosa, and Brandon Berinobis.  The newest member of the vocal team, Asaiah "the Maad King" Scott, joined the team during the summer of 2018 after the exit of Nainoa Heffernan who is concentrating on his beautiful family.  Our steady backline with Guy Heresa, and Lapana Ieriko help us to remember that the collective is so much more than concentrating on the front line.

The release of our EP in 2014 contained our first breakout hit "Fake Lover" which established their ability to reach Hawai'i's reggae listeners.  Other songs on the EP, including "Natural Woman" and "Kahalu'u's Crying" also enjoyed local radio airplay and showcased the diversity of our teams abilities. Since then, we have released a full-length album and a second EP in 2019, and have been blessed to showcase collaborations with Lion Fiyah, Bo Napoleon and a heavy collab with Mahkess and Kanakamon of Kapu System.

We kicked off our 10 year anniversary celebration with the release of “Kali Ana Au”, which is Bob Marley's “Waiting In Vain” translated into Hawaiian by our band members Cyd and Keahi, along with Ata's brother Sheldon.  The release has been a huge success, and we are so humbled by the outpouring of love from all over the world for this song.

We will be delivering much more music in the coming months, so stay tuned!

As a band, our goal is to continue to deliver original music that our family, friends, and fans can continue to relate to! Find us on Instagram (@thevitals808) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/thevitalsreggae).  For information on booking and events, email thevitals808@gmail.com.
